Nick Saban is one of the best recruiters in the history of college football. Not only for the program but also for the individual player he is recruiting, he has been able to sell his vision, making the Alabama program a liver.

Due to the unparalleled success of Crimson Tide opposing teams sometimes try to find ways to recruit negatively against the Saban family. A tactic often used? Recruit believes that if he chooses to go to Tuscaloosa, it will be difficult for him to get on the field.

Well, Saban has a counter in response to that argument, and it’s deadly. A YouTube user by the name of Peavy Dawg posted a leaked clip of Saban talking to a recruiter.

YouTube user Peavy Dawg recently posted a video (below) on YouTube entitled “Saban talking to recruit on Zoom.” YouTube Post is a screen recording of a tweeted video.

In the 2-minute, 19-second Nick Saban recruiting Zoom call, Saban cites Alabama’s impressive run of players selected in the National Championship and NFL Draft before being pushed to a common negative recruitment pitch used against Crimson Tide. Was given Saban noted that some schools would suggest that they would play elsewhere before seeing the field in the UA.

Saban called the refereeing negative pitch “insulting”, recruit and saying, “If you can’t play here, I won’t talk to you.”

He explained that if another coach were telling a player, he would easily find time on the field at his own school, this is basically the coach who is acknowledging that Alabama is better.

He goes on to explain the possibility that a pitch of “you can play at our place before you play at Alabama” is another school, “just telling you that Alabama’s better.”

From there, Saban tells recruit that Alabama players will tell him that the competition has made him better, citing examples of Marlon Humphrey, Amari Cooper, Cam Robinson, and Jonathan Allen practicing on a daily basis.

If Saban would have wanted to go a step further, he could have also pointed out what that opposing coach is saying about the player he’s recruiting. Is that coach telling the player he’s not good enough to compete for early playing time at Alabama? If so, I wonder what those recruits think about a coach not believing in their ability to compete against the best.
